... time for another tutorial, since people asked how I shade using the Gradient tool, this generally explains it! This is what I learned when I worked as colorist and a few tricks also when I was in that storyboard-course... You can shade everything using that tool, a rock is just an example.
And it is really fast to work with it... I painted that rock in around 12 minutes... or less. Please refer to this Tutorial (or to my DA URL) if you use this technique, Thanks!

Wow... These blasted things are my arch enemy in backgrounds. And the techniques here can easily be applied to traditional media too. You've got my respect, and many thanks for making something so useful. ^_^
