both play a role in the local history and rites of Ädras, a legend tells that both meet in the middle of the big and all year long frozen plains in the north and together they are able to spread the cold breath of this area over the whole country, but only for a while and this time is what the people call "winter".
Gangolf usually stands for the frozen earth and the ground (water also) meanwhile Edda stands for the cold air and snow. (Wind is one of the biggest sanctums in the Ädras culture so her/his followers usually represent mightier)
