... what I've been working on the last two weeks, a few hours here and there... those who check my LJ will know it though
 It's an alternative Cover for the PS3 Classics Edition as I didn't like that one it comes with (that classics border is just ugly..) so I decided, why not paint my own Still quite a not so common work from me, isn't it? Due to the fact that my fulltime-job is approx. 100% digital painting stuff I submit a lot of comic artworks as I don't want to do all the same in my freetime too  Asking for critique, but not sure if I will be able to do any changes, as the file is really huge already... Background: clouds, dust and dirt was created using texture brushes I made myself, flags are just flat objects with two colors I bent the way the are shown using the Warp-tool in Photoshop. Character: painted all new, reference for the character details used, so that I know where he has all that stuff placed on his body XD didn't use any references anatomy-wise though, so it might be off on a few edges. Horse is also painted completely new in Photoshop, mane was created using a special hair brush. sop... that's it, hope you like the outcome, I am going to make a cover for the PS3 gamebox now so that I can use it for real Assassin's Creed (c) Ubisoft FULLVIEW is a good idea! I like the semi-realism, think that effect actually is better. sharp-shading (is that even a concept?) or should I say high contrast adds a lot of light to the picture. great detail with the water and horse's mane.

Still looks a bit too clean on a few edges for my own taste  , but these small details like the water, the mane, these shiny dots on the weapons.. etc. is what I really love to work on  Oh yes, pretty cool.
Altair rawks totally. I must draw him also again.  ^__^  Nichts gegen deine anderen Sachen aber du solltest echt mehr von so etwas zeigen. Das sieht wirklich granatenmäßig aus und die Hand erziehlt fast schon einen 3-D Effekt. Wirklich erste Sahne! Ich mag auch die Rot zu Weiß Aufteilung im Bild, es wirkt alles farblich sehr harmonisch. Also: MEHR DAVON!
 wow! Ich glaube das ist somit eines der besten Bilder, die ich in den fast zwei jahren die ich dich beobachte gesehen habe.. O_o die struktur auf dem Stoff haut einen aus den Socken und dann die Dynamik und Perspektive des Ganzen. Es strahlt unglaubliche Kraft und Stärke aus und das ist einfach nur zum in die Knie gehen!

Critiques
Like many commenters below, I noticed some very small areas that looked a bit off to me, but do not detract at all from this stunning work. First, the wall on the left of the image stands out a bit; the texture is different from the much cleaner, sharper version that's used for the horse and Altair. Speaking of textures, the image could probably be improved by using a finer texture on the horse, since currently it seems a bit too smooth-looking. Another thing I would like to point out is the anatomy of the horse, around the neck and the beginning of the mane, which looks slightly different from the corresponding area on actual horses (the curve of the neck looks a bit too rounded and long). Just a few minor points for consideration...
If I were to type up all of the great elements of this work, I'd be sitting here forever, so let me just note a few things. Great work on the forelimbs of the horse. Looks completely realistic to me and I love the way that the limb is bent and makes the fur of the horse shine a bit at the joint. I love the motion blur as the wind blows the flags and the mysterious Altair as well, which conveys the whole mood of the piece effectively. As always, great attention to detail, especially of the riding equipment and the tiny droplets of water at the bottom of this deviation.
